BENTLEY AIMS FOR PIKES PEAK TRIPLE CROWN

Bentley will return to the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), sponsored by Gran Turismo, for a third and final time. The Continental GT3 Pikes Peak designed for the race will be the first competition Bentley to run on renewable fuel, a step towards a goal to offer sustainable fuels to Bentley’s customers around the world.

Also known as ‘The Race to the Clouds’, the PPIHC is an invitation-only automobile hill climb to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA. It is held on the last Sunday of June each year and the 2021 event will be the 99th running of the hill climb.

Racing in conjunction with customer team Fastr and with three-time Pikes Peak champion and former ‘King of the Mountain’ Rhys Millen (NZ) behind the wheel, Bentley will be competing for a new record to complete a triple crown of Pikes Peak triumphs. To break the record, the car will have to complete the nearly 5,000 ft climb, which includes 156 corners, at an average speed of more than 78 mph to cross the finish line in less than nine minutes and 36 seconds.
