New Flying Spur with V8 engine joins the Bentley family
The new Flying Spur comes now with Bentley's successful V8 engine, an alternative to the iconic W12 model aimed at the most passionate drivers. It is a four-door grand tourer focused on the driving experience and with a cabin space that combines exquisite luxury with state-of-the-art integrated technology, without forgetting refinement and comfort.
The Flying Spur V8 offers greater agility and benefits from a higher fuel range between each stop, as well as reduced CO2 emissions. To maximize fuel economy, the V8 can shut down four of its eight cylinders under light load conditions, an imperceptible change to the occupants, with deactivation times of around 20 milliseconds.
At the heart of this car is Bentley's 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine, which produces a maximum output of 550PS and uses dual-displacement turbos to reach a maximum torque of 770Nm at just under 2000 rpm. The turbos are located within the 'V' of the engine, minimizing the path of the exhaust gases and promoting a fast response and high efficiency.
Furthermore, the Flying Spur V8 is 100 kg lighter than the W12 version, making the vehicle feel more agile and responsive with a distinctive personality of its own. The new model features the latest powertrain and chassis advancements, adaptive air suspension, brake torque vectoring, drive dynamics control, and electric steering. The result on the road is simply sublime.
The perfect fusion of design and craftsmanship
The exterior design of the Flying Spur V8 is unmistakably Bentley. With a lengthened 130mm wheelbase compared to the second-generation model, the new Flying Spur now has a higher presence on the road and more muscular lines that run the entire length of the car.
Standard exterior features on the new V8 model include a 20-inch, 10-spoke painted alloy wheel, a V8 wing badge, and quad tailpipes, creating a visual impact to the rear of the vehicle. There are seven Bentley paint colors to choose from as standard, which complements its character and lines.
The interior of the new Flying Spur V8 is comprised of a modern cabin of unrivaled luxury and innovation. Elegant and unique, this space has extremely comfortable seats made of leather. When the engine start button is pressed, the paneling section in the middle of the dash rotates to reveal a 12.3-inch touchscreen, an icon of the British brand.
